Message from John

Little Ashley has left us . . .

As all of you know by now our little friend Ashley (Antico) Maynard died this past Wednesday from injuries suffered when she was struck by a car in Vernal, Utah while crossing the street last week. Ashley was 12 years old and the only child of our brother, friend, and fellow church member Bill Antico. Words cannot properly describe the sorrow and compassion we feel for Bill and his family. Bill will need us more than ever when he returns from Salt Lake City.

Thank you Church Family for being so aware, so sensitive, so caring, so prayerful, and so patient in one of those times when all we can do is sit, hope, listen, and wait. It is our desire and expectation that God will move and work in this tragedy in the lives of all those who have felt it. May His loving presence surround Bill and his family and guard them and give them endurance and peace as they grieve the loss of their sweet little girl.

No, there are no answers, only terrible and painful questions that must lead us further down that path of letting go as we learn simple trust in our Abba Father. It would be insanity to face life and death without confidence in the Almighty God who promises one day to right all wrongs, remedy all injustices, wipe away every tear, eliminate all pain and suffering, and Who will make all things new as He reunites redeemed loved ones in the warm glow of His eternal presence.

We love you Bill. We miss you already Ashley. As our hearts break heaven welcomes another angel. We will see you on the other side little one.

Doug

Prayer Needs

.

Pray for John Cooper on his two-week mission trip to Micronesia and Guam. Pray for the Lord to put a hedge of protection around him as he travels and give him strength for a very busy schedule.

Pray for Henry and Oneita Higgins as their family helped them move into Grand Villa (assisted living), room 201 last week.  Pray that they will adjust to their new living situation after living in their home for many, many years.

Pray for Rebecca Parks.  Her father, Robert Eli passed away last week - pray for this family as they are suffering from this loss.

Nedra Wilmarth, (sister of Ayrtle Axtell) is in Family Health West and needs our prayers for comfort.

Johnny Terry (friend of Bobby and Sherry Heath - from Breckenridge) has pancreatic cancer and recently moved from St. Mary's to Peachtree Assisted Living.

Rachel Cornelison (student from Western State) was injured in a sledding accident and has a fractured vertebrae.

Kitt Woods has a severe kidney infection and needs prayers for recovery.

Continue to pray for  Ashley Maynard (Bill Antico's daughter) who suffered a head injury after being hit by a car.  She is in the Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, is in a coma, and has a problem with her heart.  Please pray for her complete recovery and for her family and caregivers.

Timothy Karcher sustained serious injuries while proudly serving his country in Iraq.  Tim has traumatic bilateral amputations of both of his legs.  He is working with a new prosthesis and "the thought of being able to walk without pain is an answer to my prayers".

Jessica Boone (head injury) has come a long way in her rehab and is getting stronger and working hard to get better.  Give thanks for her progress and continue praying for her and her family.

Allen Avery is progressing well and he will be coming off the vent, as his body is healthy and it was only a matter of building the strength.  He is now able to use a speaking valve on his trach, continue to pray for his healing, as it has been a slow process.
