What An Opportunity—Part II
If you would like to plan, plant, water, weed and pick a community garden site here on God’s property, attend the planning meeting today right after classes in Room 103.

Parking Lot Maintenance
A skilled tractor driver has secretly re-spread gravel and leveled out the parking lot. No one seems to know who did it but coming down into the parking lot is a very sm-o-o-o-th ride thanks to whoever. Monte Stiglitz removed the snow after the last snowstorm so he is the person of interest to have graded it this time. Thank you!
N’Balance Class
Don’t forget to sign up for the N’Balance class that starts March 1 here at the building for persons over 60. Call Joyce Chynoweth at the State Health Dept 248-7033 to make reservations for the class here at the building.
Change in Classes
Starting March 3, there will be new adult classes on Wednesday evenings. John Cooper will start an 8 week course on dealing with grief in Room 207 and Bobby Heath will teach a class on II Peter in the auditorium.
At present, Curtis Fleming is teaching a class on Sunday mornings in the auditorium. Any future plans for this class will be announced later. Vince Urbina is presently teaching a class in 103 on II Samuel and that will end in a couple of weeks. John Cooper will continue his course on Evangelism in Room 105. Ron Wilson will begin a class on “How to Study the Bible” . Start up date and Room number will be announced at a later date.
Death Notice
Mildred Bixler passed away last week in Searcy, Arkansas. Mildred was the wife of Homer Bixler who was an early preacher here in Grand Junction and was instrumental in securing funding to purchase the church building at 7th and Teller. Our sympathies to the family.
 

Prayer Needs

Prayer Requests
Continue to pray for families who have lost loved ones and are still grieving from loss, including Della Fiske Turner - her brother, Bill had a heart attack and died in Albuquerque on 2/16. Diane Hatfield continues to heal from shoulder surgery and gives thanks for all prayers on her behalf and offers of help
George Henderson - had recent shoulder surgery. Pray for his complete recovery.
One of the new babies in our church family, Alison Parks, was hospitalized with RSV, a respiratory virus that can be very serious in little ones.  Pray for complete healing for her and no long-term complications.  She is off of oxygen and taking medication. .

Joe Marutzky - is under a doctor's care for a treatable type of cancer - pray for his complete recovery.
Alahna Martin (from Meeker) - is home & making good progress.  Continue to pray for that family who was in a very serious car accident that claimed the life of their son, Stone.

Steve Neff - is recovering from recent surgery at the VA.

Wanda Haggerty - friend of Judy Connors - (from Craig) - is critically ill, and needs prayers for comfort.

Elaine Robert's neighbor, Irene, has COPD and needs prayers for her breathing to improve.

Mike Bamford (has cystic fibrosis and leukemia) - and is in Children's Hospital in Denver with complications. Pray he will be able to eat, that his immune system kicks in and heals the fungus completely.   He has a few spots on his spine and inflammation at the lumbar points. It is causing him a lot of pain, and there is not much they can do except give him pain medication.  Pray for freedom from pain.
Allen Avery - Janelle and Allen are now in Houston and Allen is at a new respirator hospital in the medical which is very good. Pray that Allen will successfully wean off the respirator. Pray for a continued remission of the brain cancer.  Pray for comfort for their children as they are now far from their Dad.  "We thank God for each of you and all the prayers you have sent to the Father. You have stood with us through so much - we have been on this journey for almost 6 months.  Praise God for going before us in the move to Houston.

Praise God for those who are ministering God's grace to us each day".
Pray for the staff of the Regional Center, some of whom are losing jobs or having to move into different positions because of state budget cutbacks.

Betsy Brown has had cataract surgery.  Pray for healing for her from that surgery and also the best decisions to be made about her arm.
Jessica Boone (16 year old with severe head injury) has been scheduled for her 2nd surgery to replace the other half of her skull on February 22nd.  Her mother asks that we continue to pray for Jessie's upcoming surgery....for the surgeons, and the procedure...no infection nor complications....for comfort for Jess as her awareness is so much greater than it was for the 1st surgery....for her cognition, speech, balance, and swallowing.

Timothy Karcher sustained serious injuries while proudly serving his country in Iraq.    He is currently on convalescent leave for one week, and believes he will only get better by working out.  He is so impressed with his medical team and all of our military health care professionals and thanks God everyday for the fantastic health care that he has received and continues to receive.
