Elders

Sandy Harris has served as an elder off and on for approximately twenty-five years for the church of Christ congregation in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was raised by Christian parents and became a Christian at a young age. Sandy and Farrel his wife of 47 years raised a son who is a missionary in South Africa and two daughters. They have nine very special grandchildren.

Sandy and Farrel enjoy touring on their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle since retiring in 2003. Sandy enjoys visiting and encouraging fellow Christians and serving the church in various ways. Sandy has led singing and taught Bible class as well as being very active in a bus ministry for many years.
Sandy says that his wife Farrel has been his greatest encourager to continue serving as an elder over the years.

Dave Scheuerman have been married since 1970. He has two daughters, Emily and Abigail,  Emily and Shane Hinerman, married since 2000, live in California.  Abigail attends school Utah.

Dave and Glenda love to sing and help provide along with others special accapella music for memorials and funerals.  Glenda has been involved with the Ladies Retreat the last two years.
Glenda has taught Sunday School classes in Tennessee, Wyoming, and Colorado from toddlers to fourth grade off and on since 1971.  Dave has taught Sunday School classes in Wyoming and Colorado.  Dave and Glenda have been involved with the Youth Group since girls were young.

Glenda excels at crafts; "no one can tie a bow like Glenda can" .  Every Sunday and Wednesday Glenda provides candy for the kids; the kids always look for the "candy lady".  Dave and Glenda order the kids meals from Burger King and McDonalds to provide the "rewards" for the children who say their memory verses on Sunday mornings.

Dave has worked with church finances for many years.  His biggest challenge now is taking the financial blinders off and getting involved with the spiritual matters of the church.  That necessarily means getting involved with our families and listening to their needs.  Dave is still working full time, so prioritizing time becomes another challenge.
